Description

Gerald Mobley was born in Rector, Arkansas, on February 6, 1938.   He has been an avid outdoorsman since his early years.  While in the service, he worked on technical training aids for aircraft systems, and afterward went into commercial art, where he eventually founded his own commercial art studio in Tulsa.   Since 1981, when he became seriously interested in wildlife art, he has spent most of his spare time at game preserves and zoos photographing ducks and geese for reference material.  Mr. Mobley separates his wildlife painting from his commercial work by painting wildlife subjects only in the studio in his home.

Cinnamon Teal was done in opaque watercolor. The print is by  photolithography using special lite-fast inks on acid-free Rising Mirage stock. The separation negative maker and the printer was Mueller-Krus. It was hand signed and numbered in pencil. The edition was 18,200 regular signed and numbered prints and 6,650 with 24 caret gold plated medallions.  The  The image size is 6-1/2″ x 9″.  The medallion is full struck 2 3/32″x1-5/16″

Cinnamon Teal…Engraved by the Federal Bureau of Engraving from the original artwork. Printed in full color. The stamp sold for seven dollars and fifty cents. Postal records show 1,780,760 stamps sold. First day of sale was July 1, 1985.
